Is Cheng Xin truly humanity's villain? What if someone else held the sword?

Many blame Cheng Xin for humanity's destruction. But thinking it through:
1) Luo Ji maintained deterrence for 62 years. Humanity completely relaxed, making zero backup plans.
2) Trisolaris was waiting for this moment - Sophon analyzed all Swordholder candidates. Cheng Xin's election was exactly what Trisolaris wanted.
3) Would anyone else really press the button? Wade might, but Wade never had a chance to become Swordholder.
Ultimately, deterrence itself was a fragile structure. Cheng Xin was just the last straw.
