The Experience
"Red Echo" doesn't just tell the Red Coast Base story — it puts you in Ye Wenjie's shoes.
- 1:1 recreation of the Red Coast control room and antenna
- Interactive decision: press the "Do Not Answer" button or not — branching narratives
- The famous Three-Body moral dilemma moves from paper to your fingertips
Why It Matters
The Beijing International Film Festival VR competition is becoming Asia's most authoritative VR/XR content award. This isn't just another IP derivative — it's Three-Body Universe breaking into a new medium dimension.
Three-Body has evolved through:
1. 📖 Novel (original form)
2. 📺 TV series (Chinese + Netflix)
3. 🎬 Film (Zhang Yimou in development)
4. 🎮 Games (Youzu Interactive)
5. 🥽 VR immersive experience ← newest frontier
My Take
The difference between VR and traditional media for Three-Body is fundamental: Three-Body's most powerful moments are forced "decision points."
Reading the novel, you're an observer. Watching TV, you're a viewer. But in VR — when the choice to "send Earth's coordinates = press the button" is right in front of you — you become the decision-maker.
This is what Three-Body has always needed: moving moral dilemmas from text to sensory experience.
If you're in Beijing or Shenzhen, check out the "Three-Body 4D Space" hall. The team is planning a national tour and online release.
The echo of Red Coast can finally be heard.
